چکیده

Numerical modelling of the soil in seismic design structures is always a daunting task. The goal this article to develop simplistic numerical technique for shallow founded buildings on compliant soils. An existing large-scale experimental research (TRISEE) was used calibration. physical model comprised rigid square foundation placed sand bed connected column and subjected dynamic sine loading. results from TRISEE experiment are well known commonly by researchers field, yet none studies were conducted considering loose case. Nonlinear link elements linear springs representing soil. It determined that behavior highly influenced stiffness, selected hysteresis model, p-y curve. Considering software limitations, models represent good manner. Based obtained experiment, case study steel frame building with SSI effects included conducted. research, authors recommend implementation into building’s phase since they exhibit unfavorable impacts can lead underdesigned structural elements. However, it has be emphasized certain limitations exist due simplified approaches research.

Centrifuge modelling of long piles subjected to lateral loading with high load eccentricity in sand

In this research paper, five centrifuge lateral loading tests of long piles with a considerable load eccentricity were carried out in the sand to investigate the impacts of the load eccentricity and pile length changes on the lateral behavior of a flexible pile beside the determination of experimental p-y curves. Comparing experimental test results with the recommended API (American Petroleum ...

Numerical Simulation of Piles Subjected To Lateral Spreading and Comparison with Shaking Table Results

Pile foundations are relatively vulnerable to lateral loads. During liquefaction-induced lateral spreading, this vulnerability is particularly conspicuous due to a loss of strength and stiffness in the liquefied soil. A nonlinear effective stress analysis incorporating an elastoplastic constitutive model based on Finite Difference Method (FLAC2D program) was used to numerically simulate shake t...

Axisymmetric Buckling Analysis of Porous Truncated Conical Shell Subjected to Axial Load

This paper studied Buckling analysis of porous truncated conical shell subjected to axial load. It is considered that a fluid undrained between porous material and the Porous material properties vary across the thickness of shell with a specific function also assumed that the edge of the shell is simply supported. The governing equations are based on the Sanders kinematics equations and the fir...

Mathematical Analysis of Shearing Viscoelastic Beam Subjected to Continuous Moving Load

In this paper, the dynamic response of a viscoelastic beam subjected to a moving distributed load has been studied. The viscoelastic properties of the beam have been considered as linear standard model in shear and incompressible in bulk. The stress components have been separated to the shear and dilatation components and as a result the governing equations in viscoelastic form has been obtaine...

Structural Analysis of Unsymmetric Laminated Composite Timoshenko Beam Subjected to Moving Load

The structural analysis of an infinite unsymmetric laminated composite Timoshenko beam over Pasternak viscoelastic foundation under moving load is studied. The beam is subjected to a travelling concentrated load. Closed form steady state solutions, based on the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) are developed. In this analysis, the effect of bend-twist coupling is also evaluated. Selec...
